Recruitment Specialist

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is a bi-state public agency responsible for promoting transportation and commerce, operating some of the busiest and most important transportation links in the region including bridges, tunnels, bus terminals, airports, PATH, AirTrain systems, the NY/NJ seaport, and the WTC Site. We currently have an opening for a Recruiting Specialist for the Management Associate Program (MAP) in our New York, NY office.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of overall program objectives and strategies as well as the recruitment of graduate students to participate in the agency’s MAP.
  • Coordinating recruiting activities.
  • Maintaining the agency’s image on the college campus.
  • Serving as a point person for students.
  • Integrating the activities of new hires for the Program.
  • Acting as the contact for the Management Associate Program trainees and agency executive staff by communicating with agency management to achieve the best possible assignments for the trainees in the program.
  • Overseeing and / or participating in interviews and final assessment processes.
  • Coordinating new hire orientation and new-hire integration activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or a related field with at least 5 years college/campus recruitment experience or equivalent.
  • Superior skills in attracting/retaining talent, building relationships, problem solving, prioritizing, organization, analyzing and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of recruiting, sourcing methods and selection interviewing.
  • The ability to utilize metrics to evaluate progress toward program goals.
  • Knowledgeable in current business practices, trends, policies and technology.
  • Willingness to travel during the fall and spring recruiting seasons.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing strong relationships with career centers, identifying opportunities to expand the agency’s name on campus.
  • Experience in identifying and establishing critical internal/external partnerships to enhance and leverage the agency’s image on college campuses.
  • The ability to align program recruiting and relationship strategy with business goals and objectives centered around diversity, workforce planning and skills acquisition.
