Job Description
Ambitious and innovative Development Engineer needed for a highly visible technology development position within BASF's Surface Technologies Division - East Windsor, CT. The Development Engineer is responsible for working on new non-traditional programs for Surface Technologies. He/she will take a new project through all stages of development from powder/process selection to production introductions. This position will interact with the Sales department and will participate in all facets of planning, developing, and documentation of a new project. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Report writing DOEs internal specifications Preliminary operation sheets Project presentations to management Provide technical support to internal and external customer Assist in troubleshooting process problems for manufacturing Analyze existing processes for possible efficiency improvements
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Material Sciences with 3 years experience. BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Skilled at root cause analysis. Understanding of manufacturing processes. Proficient in computer skills including WORD, EXCEL, MiniTab and AutoCAD. Well organized with strong project management skills. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication skills required Thermal spray experience and/or ceramic background preferred but not essential. Willingness to travel required.
