Materials Estimator/Buyer
Position Title: Materials Estimator/Buyer

Job Description:
The successful candidate will utilize excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills to perform the following duties:
Provide value to customer inquiry-bid proposal process from estimating out to suppliers and back to estimating (also interface with engineering, quality, testing, and business development).
Meet bid proposal process performance objectives.
Review Customer Inquiry.
Understand applications and resolve irregularities.
Prepare and send Request for Proposal and Request for Quote and follow up to resolve supplier questions and ensure timely response.
Analyze responses, recognize and resolve ineffective responses and challenge supplier to continually improve and meet market demands.
Load pricing data into management information system.
Prepare small business plans and reports.
Attend pricing meetings.
Review requisitions for accuracy and resolve issues.
Locate suppliers and issue purchase orders.
Follow up, expedite purchases and maintain purchase orders.
Resolve receiving, receiving inspection and invoicing issues.
Requirements include:
BS in business or related field and two years related experience or AS in business or related field with five years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience using PC software, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access.
Knowledge of ERP system with an understanding of procurement interface.
Abilities to:
Perform duties with limited direction.
Work in a team environment.
Work in an office or indoor industrial environment.
