This role contributes the technical expertise required to ensure that the regulatory and advanced controls are properly designed and functioning to maximize value. The Process Control Engineer maintains and improves the DCS infrastructure, database applications, and the off-line operator training simulator.
Cherry Point Refinery is a user of Honeywell TDC3000 and Aspen DMCPlus multivariable technology. Honeywell Experion interface has been installed fully on 1 of the 7 operating consoles.--------------------------------QUALIFICATIONS:* Must have at least three years of process control experience. Additional process engineering experience preferred.
* Must have a working knowledge of Honeywell TDC3000 (CL, point configuration and database, schematic building, HPM operation, etc). Open technology knowledge / background would be advantageous.
* Desired experience with multivariable matrix control technology (preferably DMC) and a background in the following areas: controller maintenance and troubleshooting, controller design and implementation, parameter tuning, problem solving, decision making, project development and execution, feasibility studies, and economic analyses. Alternately, training in this area could be provided to the successful candidate.
* Specialist control skills are required including an understanding of process dynamics, control engineering principles, and practical operating knowledge.
* Must have effective communication skills with all levels in the Refinery and have the ability to communicate technical information (oral and written).
* Must have effective interaction with the Process Control Team and with interdisciplinary Refinery teams.
* Must be able to function comfortably and effectively in the roles of individual contributor, team player, and project leader.
* Must have a bias towards action, a commitment to performance delivery, and an eye for accuracy and detail.
Education / Certifications: A Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
