The normal teaching load is three courses per semester and English is the language of instruction. For expatriates, benefits include housing, annual round-trip air travel for appointee and qualifying dependents, plus schooling for the equivalent of up to two children at Cairo American College. Job Description: The Department of Physics invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position beginning September 2009. The successful applicant will teach a variety of undergraduate physics courses, in addition to teaching and mentoring graduate students in the department's Master's program. Currently, faculty members of the Physics Department at AUC have multimillion-dollar research grants and it is expected that the applicants should be capable of conducting research and of attracting extramural funding. Requirements: It is preferable that applicants have a strong Experimental Physics expertise especially in the subfield of Alternative Energy. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Physics or related field. The applicants should be actively engaged in research. Strong potential for outstanding teaching is necessary. Accordingly, the successful applicant must demonstrate high potential for a strong record in research and excellent student evaluation in teaching.
