Senior Employee Relations Consultant (Reference # JP25378-JN)

Location: Rosemead CA

Job Requirements:
Candidate must have a Masters Degree in Human Resources, Business
Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of formal
training, education, and experience. This position will require at least
ten years experience working in the field of Human Resources with
experience in such typical HR disciplines as benefits, labor relations,
equal opportunity, organizational development, staffing, and/or
compensation. The HRC will be expected to have an understanding of
employment law, Focus on Resolution process, and an excellent knowledge of
corporate HR policy, objectives, strategy, goals, the national labor
relations act and its application. Candidates must possess strong
interpersonal and consulting skills including the ability to influence
decision makers and form strong partnerships and business relationships
with clients and colleagues. The successful candidate will have strong
facilitation skills, good project management skills, the ability to work
effectively with cross-functional teams, and the ability to conceptualize
and recommend human resources strategies and interventions. The successful
candidate must be able to identify trends in data and specific areas for
concern/action and develop interventions designed to mitigate problems. The
HRC must have strong computer skills including proficiency with MS office
programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well a general knowledge of the DSS
system.

Preferences:
Experience/education in conflict mediation. Advanced skills in statistics.
Experience working in a line organization.

Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the overall
positive employee relations strategy for SCE. This will include training
development and training of supervisor/managers and employees, relationship
building and readiness assessment within business units, and measuring/
assessing of SCE for potential concerns and the effectiveness of
implemented recommendations/interventions. This work will include vendor
management, budget development, budget tracking, and project management of
surveys such as the Work Environment, New Hire, and Exit surveys. The HRC
will act as a consultant/expert in the areas of HR policy and conflict
resolution for the company and to employees, officers, and department and
division management and will manage investigations on sensitive issues and
negotiate settlements.
