BUYER/MERCHANT - PAINT/PLUMBING/ELECTRICAL

Position is located in Grand Rapids, MI.

Candidates outside the GR area, will be required to relocate.

The individual selected for this position will be responsible for:

*Negotiates with vendors

*Builds vendor relationships/Joint Business Plan

*Assists in developing store specific plans at the category level

*Supervision, training, and development of Merchandise Associate

*Sales and margin financial performance for multiple categories

*Selects and analyzes ad items and events

*Utilizes market trend analysis to determine assortment

*Domestic & overseas travel required

Ideal candidate will possess the following:

*Bachelor's degree or commensurate retail experience

*Previous buying, inventory, or analysis experience

*Negotiation and planning skills

*Sense of product trends

*Knowledge of business drivers (e.g. pricing, promotion, assortment)

*Knowledge of the market, retail business and customers

*Proficient with Microsoft Office with the ability to learn company systems and tools

*Enthusiasm, initiative, and a passion for retail
