Job description:

The Procurement Manager will be accountable for Co-Manufacturing sourcing, negotiations, contract creation, contract adherence, contract renewals and on-going operational performance.

Leads cost savings and operational performance activities with Co-Manufacturers and internal functions that support the assigned manufacturing segments.

Responsibilities include:
Supports Morning Foods, New Ventures and Kashi innovation CoMan sourcing, implementation and operational management function.

Develop integrated business strategies in conjunction with the assigned Business Unit or Units that leverage internal and external manufacturing capabilities to optimize Kellogg’s value.

Maintains primary business relationships and ongoing operational performance management for all assigned Co-Mans.

Monitor, track, communicates to ensure that Co-manufacturers meet agreed upon performance metrics to support Kellogg business requirements.

Identifies and leads in the resolution of business issues in an effective and timely manner.

Leads cost savings and operational performance activities with Co-Manufacturers that support the assigned manufacturing segments.

Accountable for year on year cost savings.

Ensure that innovation projects that require external manufacturing are sourced, negotiated, have contracts developed and CoMan on-boarding in place on-time to support innovation launches.

Work with the LPM, Supply Chain Business Partners and cross functional team members to ensure execution of Innovation launch plans, as well as corresponding impact to existing SKU’s. This includes active review of roll-out plans, primary negotiations and relationship with CoMan and evaluation and communication of associated risks. Develop annual budget, mid-year budgets, reporting and is financially accountability for PPV associated with $50MM spend that supports $100MM in GSV.

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree (i.e. Business, Engineering, Food Science, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain) plus 5-7 years of experience in Supply Chain or related areas, or
ten or more years of related experience.

Requires strong leadership, planning and technical skills.

Travel required 30 – 40%

Prefer Ready-to-Eat Cereal and Wholesome Snacks manufacturing and/or RQT experience coupled with strong financial understanding

Must have proven track record on ability to work with all levels of management within Kellogg’s and with external manufacturing companies.

Needs a solid understanding of a supplier / vendor relationship management

Must have proven track record of strong negotiation skills.

Required to be available 24/7 as emergency contact for CoMan plant personnel and internal Kellogg Supply Chain personnel to avoid plant downtime.
