We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Transportation Procurement.
The Procurement manager will strategically source, negotiate and procure multiple modes of
transportation within the United States and inter-lined shipments with Mexico and Canada. This
activity encompasses multi-temperature environments as well as varying service level requirements.
The Manager is responsible for developing the strategic direction for this procurement activity to
deliver the highest levels of service at the optimum cost.
Some responsibilities are:
1. Execute "Strategic Sourcing" methodology and negotiate contracts and pricing.
2. Analyze existing Transortation opportunities for cost improvement.
3. Work with financial business partner in developing transportation budget parameters and savings
initiatives.
4. Provide operational support and equipment capacity to meet shipping demands.
5. Develop routing guides and compliance metrics to deliver negotiated savings opportunities.
6. Work to enhance freight payment procedure to effectively pay and validate contractual rates.
7. Work closely with dedicated transportation to capture internal and external reload opportunities
for integration with supplier sourcing networks.
8. Review and evaluate the competitiveness of fuel surcharge scales.
9. Work with Kellogg - Canada, Mexico and the co-manufacturing providers to drive cost savings and
operational efficiencies.
10. Screen and hire qualified minority motor carriers to achieve Kellogg's Corporate W/MBE spend
objectives.
Job Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree, preferably in a logistics related discipline is required.
This position requires a minimum of 5 years in Supply Chain.
Experience in transportation is preferred.
Must be able to analyze situations, identify opportunities for applications, and successfully
implement through negotiations.
Knowledge of SAP is preferred.
The individual must possess strong communication skills and demonstrate leadership qualities as a
self-starter.
The individual must possess solid negotiation and analytical skills.
Up to 10% travel is a requirement of this position.
Knowledge of Kellogg Manufacturing and Distribution network is preferred.
