General Manager

Flint Energy Services Ltd. is currently accepting resume applications from qualified candidates for the position of General Manager for our Global Poly Plant with our Transportation & Tubular Management Group; located in our Edmonton, Office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of a state of the art high density polyethylene pipe systems manufacturing facility.
Reporting to the Vice President, Flint Tubular Management Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Strategic planning for the successful operation of this manufacturing business unit including Sales Forecasting, Marketing, Financial Planning, Daily Plant Operations and Product delivery with ongoing Customer service
Maintain the Flint Safety program to manage the safety and well being of all Global Poly personnel on the program
Provide leadership and mentor the Manufacturing business unit’s management team
Recruit and hire branch staff that have high moral, ethical, skills and work standards that are dedicated to our company principles of Quality Service and Continuous Improvement.
Assist in maintaining a capital budget and plant-operating budget
Ensure that operations are managed in a cost effective and efficient manner to facilitate attainment of budgeted results
Measuring and reporting of key performance indicators for success including safety, quality, financial and customer service
Provide technical expertise to assist in the evaluation and successful development of new products
Ensure that all branch staff follows company policies and procedures, as well as government and customer regulations.
The following skills and qualifications are required:
Experience:
10 to 15 years in plastic manufacturing experience in a senior management position
Related work experience within a manufacturing environment
Multi-disciplinary experience in process or equipment engineering
Education:
University Degree in Engineering or equivalent with relevant work experience
Key Competencies:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong leadership and technical skills
Proven hands-on problem solving and project management skills
Strong understanding of equipment design and function specifically for the plastics industry
Service orientated, hands-on type individual
Able to work in a team environment
