Job Description:
This position provides leadership, engineering design/support, technical guidance, and supervision for the facility E&I maintenance department. This position is responsible for the supervision and training of a staff of journey-level industrial electrical and instrumentation technicians. This position is responsible for formulating and developing unit goals and objectives, engineering the installation of new/upgraded equipment, establishing/upgrading E&I standards, supervising personnel and directing day-to-day activities of the department.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of five years experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Effective communication (written and verbal) skills
Good problem solving/troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of safety practices, safe work methods and safety regulations
Knowledge of relevant state and federal regulations, and codes
Working knowledge of motor control centers, VFD's, and switchgear
Working knowledge of DCS and PLC systems & equipment
Working knowledge of industrial instrumentation
Working knowledge of PM practices and philosophy
Ability to select, motivate and evaluate staff and provide for their training and development
Ability to perform engineering design for new, modified, or upgraded installations of electrical, instrumentation, and controls equipment/systems. Proactively pursue improvements of these systems.
Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships with all departments at the facility.
Ability to plan, organize, estimate, coordinate, assign, review and evaluate the work of electrical/instrumentation crew.
Ability to drive continuous improvement.
