The Office of Human Resources at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking applications for the position of Employee Relations Manager. Reporting to the Director, Employee Relations, this position will oversee all employee relations services and will assist the Director in maintaining a pro-active employee relations environment. The Employee Relations Manager will provide consultation to managers and staff members throughout the Institute regarding policy interpretation and administration as well as issues that arise in the workplace. Specifically, this position will advise on matters related to supervision of direct reports, and will provide oversight to managers in the areas of coaching and counseling of their direct reports. The Employee Relations Manager will respond to and investigate complaints involving complex employment matters for union and non union employees, and will prepare comprehensive investigation reports which include recommendations for complaint resolution. The Manager of Employee Relations will conduct ongoing analysis of employee relations data to identify trends and determine levels of staff satisfaction in order to create and develop programs and initiatives that will support strategic efforts to create an ideal work environment. He/she will assist with the management of the Recognition Programs, will facilitate trainings on employee relations content matter and will be the content expert on all Human Resources policies and procedures. He/she will supervise the Employee Relations Specialist.
Bachelors degree required. Additional HR credentials such as an advanced degree, SPHR or PHR certification a plus. 5-7 years Employee Relations Human Resources experience, including supervision of staff. Must have advanced knowledge of theories, principals and best practices of HR management. HR Generalist experience preferred. Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws is essential. Strong computer skills. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent judgment and critical thinking skills. Strong written and oral communications skills, including presentation skills, are essential. Strong planning and organizational skills required.
